A brief Biography of R.A. Kartini

Raden Adjeng Kartini was a remarkable Indonesian heroine born on April 21, 1879, in Jepara, Central Java. She was a noblewoman who passionately advocated for women’s rights and access to education .

Kartini grew up during a time when Javanese girls of noble birth were confined to their homes and denied formal schooling beyond a basic level . Nevertheless, her father allowed her to read and write letters, connecting her with both Dutch and Indonesian friends, which broadened her views on social equality .

Using her letters, Kartini spoke out about the importance of education for girls, criticized early forced marriages, and opposed restrictions that kept women isolated from society. She eloquently called for women to be independent thinkers and educated mothers .

Although Kartini passed away young on September 17, 1904, her influence lived on. After her death, a collection of her letters was published under the title Letters of a Javanese Princess (originally Door Duisternis tot Licht—“From Darkness Comes Light”), inspiring generations to continue her mission . Thanks to her vision, schools for girls were established, and her birthday is celebrated every April 21 as “Kartini Day” in Indonesia .

Kartini remains a symbol of women’s empowerment and social progress. Her courage to challenge traditional norms and demand education for girls marks her as one of Indonesia’s most beloveed National Heroes

                  RECIPE:)

ingredients:

• 1 tbsp cornstarch

• 1 1/2 cup milk

• 1-2 tbsp sugar

• Pinch of salt

• 1 tbsp cocoa powder

• 4 oz dark chocolate

• Whipped cream, cocoa powder/chocolate shavings for serving 

instructions:

Step 1:

Mix cornstarch with a little milk until smooth. This will be used later to thicken the hot chocolate. Set it aside.

Step 2:

Place a saucepan on the stove over medium-low heat. Add 1 cup of milk, a bit of sugar, a pinch of salt, and cocoa powder.

Step 3:

Whisk everything together until the mixture is smooth and starts to gently simmer.

Step 4:

Add some dark chocolate and stir until it begins to melt.

Step 5:

Turn off the heat, then pour in the cornstarch slurry you made earlier.

Step 6:

Whisk again until the hot chocolate becomes thick and fully smooth.

Step 7:

Optional: Add peppermint extract or any other flavor you like.

Step 8:

Serve immediately in a cup with whipped cream and chocolate shavings on top.

Ingredients:

• 2 cups of fresh watermelon (cut into small cubes)
• 1 tablespoon of sugar (optional)
• Ice cubes (as needed)
• ½ cup of cold water

Tools:

• Blender
• Knife
• Glass
• Spoon

Procedure:

1. Cut the watermelon.
   Slice the watermelon and remove the seeds. Cut it into small cubes.

2. Put the watermelon into a blender.
   Add 2 cups of watermelon cubes into the blender.

3. Add sugar and water.
   Add 1 tablespoon of sugar (optional) and ½ cup of cold water to help blend.

4. Blend until smooth.
   Turn on the blender and blend for about 30 seconds until the juice is smooth.

5. Add ice cubes.
   If you want it colder, add some ice cubes into the blender or into the glass.

6. Serve the juice.
   Pour the watermelon juice into a glass.

7. Ready to enjoy!
   Your watermelon juice is fresh and ready to drink.

 a. Pengertian Tipografi Menurut Para Ahli

1. Darmadi: 

   - Mengartikan tipografi sebagai karya seni dalam penggunaan jenis huruf. Meskipun bersifat rumit, aspek penting dalam komunikasi dengan penggunanya adalah desain medium yang digunakan.

2. Sudiana: 

   - Mengemukakan bahwa tipografi memiliki pengertian yang luas, mencakup penataan dan pola halaman serta berbagai item cetak. Pengertian ini juga mencakup pemilihan dan penataan huruf, tanpa menyertakan ilustrasi lain yang tidak berhubungan dengan susunan huruf pada halaman cetak.

3. Roy Brewer (1971): 

   - Menyatakan bahwa tipografi juga melibatkan penataan dan pola halaman pada media cetak. Pemahaman ini menekankan pentingnya pemilihan, penataan, dan hal-hal yang terkait dengan sistem huruf (typeset), serta tidak termasuk ilustrasi yang bukan bagian dari penataan huruf pada halaman cetak.
